Wootton is located 20 kilometres north of Bulahdelah on the Mid North Coast of NSW. It lies on Wootton Way between Bulahdelah and Coolongolook. Wootton Way was originally part of the Pacific Highway until 1999 when the Wootton village was bypassed by the A1 Freeway.
Wootton is surrounded by farms, equestrian enterprises, state forest and national park. Cattle, sheep, goats, buffalo, chickens, llamas, alpacas and pigs are all farmed in the area.
There is an active community based around the Wootton Community Centre. The Wootton Community Centre consists of the Brush Turkey Cafe, the School Hall and associated facilities.
